APPRENTICE WELFARE
The Jaguar Land Rover Retailer Apprenticeship Programme is committed to ensuring that all of our learners experience a safe and supportive learning and working environment that is conducive to their progress on the programme. All of our teams receive regular Safeguarding and Prevent training and our Safeguarding and Prevent Officers are committed to promoting the Apprentice welfare support resources that we have in place across our programmes.
Safeguarding and Prevent are embedded throughout the Learner Journey and learners are frequently reminded of their responsibilities to themselves and one another.
We also ensure that all of our key training and resourcing partners, including the Hotels that we use for all apprentice block training accommodation, receive up-to-date Safeguarding and Prevent training and that they have undertaken the necessary Disclosure and Barring (DBS) checks.
All learners are issued with a Welfare Card when they join the Apprenticeship Programme. The card contains key welfare contact information that learners can use to access a secure welfare email address and 24 hour emergency contact number for use whilst on block training.
On occasions there may be the need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about an apprentices’ welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our apprentices are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare.
